The difference between archaeological and historical artifacts is that the historical artifacts are defined through written documents. They can usually be associated with a particular person and/or an event as well, for example, the wood-working tools donated by the Ascencio Antone family. Historical artifacts also include contemporary objects as their acquisition is important in order to maintain a continuous history. Historical artifacts can be as diverse as pottery, basketry plaques, dolls, trophies and paintings.
